School bags built for every school day
A good school bag carries a full day of books, a lunch box and a bottle without hurting small shoulders. SAM school bags are light, padded where it counts and stitched to survive daily drops, rain and overstuffing.
Best for: Students from primary school to Class 10

How to choose the right one
Keep it light
India's School Bag Policy 2020 suggests a loaded bag should weigh about 10 percent of a child's body weight, from 1.6 to 2.2 kg in Classes 1 and 2 up to 2.5 to 4.5 kg in Classes 9 and 10. An empty bag that is already light leaves more room for books.
Padded, wide straps
Wide, padded shoulder straps spread the load and stop straps digging in. Look for adjustable straps so the bag sits high on the back as your child grows.
Separate compartments
Two or more compartments keep books, notebooks and a lunch box apart. A side pocket for a water bottle stops spills inside the bag.
Tough fabric and zips
Choose water-resistant fabric with reinforced stitching at the straps and strong, smooth zips. These are the first parts to fail on cheap bags.
Frequently asked questions
How heavy should a school bag be?
The School Bag Policy 2020 from India's Ministry of Education recommends bag weight of roughly 10 percent of the child's body weight, with suggested ranges by class. Pre-primary children are not expected to carry a bag.
Which size school bag should I buy?
Pick a bag that is no wider than the child's torso and does not hang below the lower back. For most school children a bag of about 18 to 25 litres is enough.
